The last few days

The last few days of my life have been hectic like hell. It’s almost 5 days that I have slept properly or have stayed put at one place for more that 8 hours.

All this started with the unwinding of the realization of my ‘defeat in CAT’ . This was followed by loads of work being assigned to me in the office. After all I had be ‘productive’ or else how would the organization productivity metrics be maintained.

Last week passed with the feelings of defeat for forgone exams diminishing, this concurred with mixed feelings of excitement and fear for the upcoming event. It was my friends wedding this week and I had promised her for over one year that would be attending to it.. More so ever there was something inside me which wanted me to attend that event badly, badly enough to take risks….big risks!

It was Friday and I was supposed to leave for Bombay, had an exam on Sunday.
I had still not decided that I would be attending the event; I had left it to my mood rather my instincts, but I very well knew what my instincts told me and subconsciously I had taken the decision long back.

I was a little tired after working seriously most of the day, and I reached the ‘Swargate’ Bus Station much before time, the evening AC Volvo bus was scheduled for 7:00 pm and I was there sharp at 6. I called up a few of my friends as I usually do when I feel bored and asked about there ‘Haal_Chaal’ the usual boy talks and stuff. I settled into my seat as soon as the bus arrived and wanted to sleep, but then a friend called up & we chatted for some more time.
It was only when the conversation ended and settled more into the bus environs, that I realized that I had an exam to give and more importantly to perform.

The whole week had passed without me even touching the books, but immediately what I needed the most was some rest. But then my dear lady luck had some other plans for me, the bus wallah played a new movie, well I felt a little irritated initially, but then I realized that the movie was the one I saw recently and had liked a lot, this calmed down my nerves and I must say that I enjoyed my journey. I reached Bombay(Thane to be specific) at around 10:30, got a rick and reached my friends room by 11 pm. This was followed by our usual talks and bantering. Everytime I come to this place.. I mean Happy Valley in Thane where I have lived for over 18 months I am filled by so much of energy and enthusiasm, don’t know why par I have this rishta with this place. No to mention I have so many beautiful memories rooted in this place.

Khair I had some food and slept after talking more with Raj.
Woke up a little late next day, the plans was to give a FLT to boost my confidence, rather build it before taking the actual exam.

The day passed with me giving the mock test and completing its analysis. For the lunch we went to FS and had our usual carte. The day ended with me sleeping a bit late and getting up too early.

The next day I woke up quite early, felt my eyes burning coz of lack of sleep, but then there was no option I had to reach my exam center for which it would take around 90 minutes by the local trains and buses.

The exam was OK (that’s what I call an exam which I could have aced, but couldn’t). But then I had other events to look upto; I called up Raj and decided to meet at Inox, Churchgate. I hired a cab and reached the place in 5 minutes. Man there was some crowd there ! Babes in mini skirts and spaghetti tops and hunks swanking their Girl Friends like material possessions. All this was just a little too much for a guy whose had just given an exam and had fared so to say OK in it.

Soon Hebbu ( that’s what I call my Singing Sensation Friend) and Raj also came, they too like me were in a state of shock, but were handling it in there ways. Both of them have there own separate ways of dealing with shocks, while Raj goes into a state of gloominess and gets irked by even the slightest of questions, Sagar (Hebbu) on the other hand creates a jovial mood around him and jokes and laughs a lot to ease off the tension. I as usual start realizing the devastation much-much later. Anyways we loitered around the place for some time, discovered that there were no good movies playing around that time and finally decided to go back to Thane and have a good lunch. Hebbu also joined us.

After a long wait at the CST Station we got a slow local for Thane and we reached by around 2:00 pm or so. We had a sumptuous lunch at Sanman (the resto where we always have food when we come back from an exam!)
Later we went to CineWonder the local MultiPlex and decided to watch a movie, it was about 3:15, we had to pack our bags and buy a wedding gift for Rashmi , and the next show was at 3:30. We took a call and bought the tickets for 'Deewane Hue Pagal', rushed to buy the wedding gift and came back to the theatre....we did miss some part of the movie but then it was a wise trade off.

After the movie we went back to our room and packed our clothes quickly. We had to board a train for Jabalpur from Kalyan station, so we had to hurry. We were there at the station in time and boared the train without much jostling, since our tickets were confirmed we settled down easily after arranging our luggage. More about the train journey and Rashmi's marriage experience later …..

Indian Ocean Night

The Indian Ocean Performance

Last Friday, our company celebrated the achievement of crossing the 1000 headcount at its India development centre. Although it would be quite strange if an Indian IT company did so, the so called Israeli management of the company finds it a matter of pride and achievement.

The major attraction of the celebrations was the live performance by the rock band “Indian Ocean”. Indian Ocean, as most of you must know is one of the hottest bands in India today, there unique blend of Classic Indian music with Jazz and Guitar makes you really come back to their music again and again. All I would say is their music is very-very distinct!
